Upright Freezers
Solid and reliable, these new range called Artic are exceptionally user friendly and use a small floor area Access to the stored samples is simplified by using the specific storage systems (cryoboxes, visotubes, etc).
The door is sealed by a triple silicone gasket. The inner doors have catches to reduce cold air loss during loading and unloading. With the outer door fully open and the lower front panel removed, all freezers will pass through a doorway of 0.8 x 2 metres (except Artic 600). Acoustic insulation and specially adapted low temperature refrigeration give a noise level of less than 55 dB.
Chest Freezers
When floor space is not a problem, but ceiling height is reduced, a chest freezer can be used. As temperature loss is minimised when the lid is opened, this method of storage is useful if the freezer is opened often.
The lid is fitted with a locking handle and spring latches compensating hinges and a hydraulic lift to ensure that the lid stays open for loading and unloading. To reduce ice build up around the lid, hot gas counter heating and a PVC bridging joined are fitted. The LCD is mounted on the right hand console at 45° for ease of use.
