CBS™ high-security straws are specifically designed for storage of biological samples in liquid nitrogen and nitrogen vapor, but also in ultra-low temperature mechanical freezers. Applications include storage of serum, plasma, buffy-coat and other blood fractions, cell suspension, bacterial or viral strains, gametes and embryos.

One of the specific applications of the CBS™ straws with hydrophobic plug is the sterile packaged Embryo Straw with disposable filling nozzle. The Embryo Straw is FDA-cleared and CE-marked as a medical device for storage of human gametes and embryos.

Certification : CBS™ high-security straws conform to ISO 9002 standards and have been 510(k) cleared by the FDA for A.R.T. applications.

CBS™ straws are available in different versions: 0.3 ml, 0.5 ml and 1.0 ml straws, either pre-barcode-printed or not.

Safety - The physical and chemical inertia of the material used to manufacture CBS™ straws guarantee the safety of your sample since no substances can be absorbed or released.

The three-part closure system guarantees the biosafety of the sample during filling and emptying procedures. Airtight heat seals on both ends of the CBS™ straw prevent contamination of both the samples and the environment. CBS™ straws are insensitive to thermal shock, guaranteed shatterproof and each individual batch manufactured is resistance tested to 150 kg/cm², before and after immersion in liquid nitrogen.
